Agronomics boosts Marlborough’s Micro Cap fund
Agronomics (ANIC), which specialises in investing in plant-based and lab-grown meat, has boosted the Marlborough UK Micro Cap Growth fund’s recent returns as consumers become more discerning about their food’s impact on the environment.
The group was the biggest contributor for the £1.5bn fund in April, with the shares jumping 65% as two of its investee companies, Meatable and LiveKindly, announced ‘supportive funding rounds’, said manager Guy Feld.
‘With consumer preferences changing and food technology rapidly advancing, Agronomics is well-placed to capitalise on the plant-based revolution,’ said the Citywire AA-rated manager.
Shares in Agronomics closed up 3.5%, or 0.9p, at 24.9p on Thursday after heavier losses earlier in the week.
Just got my offer via interactive investor. It says I must respond by the 21st of May which I already have, and the shares will be available on the 1st of June. However it’s not clear the deadline date for when the funds need to be in place. I think this might also be first of June but I need to doublecheck, anyone got any ideas tho?
Well it can fall for no reason, with no rns etc, it sure as hell can rise for the same
Is there a Telegram group but I could follow?
Ed did tip agronomics at the end of that podcast funny enough. When asked about future investment areas that will be huge and perhaps withstand any market downturns apart from cannabis, he mentioned Jim melon and agronomics, saying those involved would earn serious money. I’d be more than happy if we’ve got some of that
Yes I think his point was that SOME cash shells with 6.5m trade at multiples close to ours in high growth sectors, then nevermind ffwds assets and potential in a few within the portfolio, 8p is highly undervalued
Ed said as a cash shell alone with 6.5 million in the bank should be worth at least 20 million alone without all the assets
Exactly, with potential growth companies like agronomics, zoetic, all trading well above Nav we should be no different
If you listen to that podcast it heavily features Ed all the way through. If you want to skip to the 50 million to 100 million market Statement start listening from one hour 17 minutes to about one hour 20 minutes where he said he believes that’s achievable short-term. It also has a lot of good stuff about leap et cetera
If you listen to one of Zaks Sunday roast podcast with Ed McDermott special guest, you will hear him in person saying that his first target is 50 million market Followed by 100000,000 which he thinks is more than achievable
Probably in about three months
Previous US close though was 64, Which is the equivalent of 45 here, which we weren’t close to, so I don’t think you can compare like for like and just use exchange rate. They too have had a 30% ish drop
New partnership news
Hi Craigy,
I’m fairly New to this share, got in at 82p with a very small amount (5% Of my portfolio) and although I Feel it will be very big, I am waiting for the sales figures before I invest any more. I went Allin on a share once before, as I believed in the story and thought it would clear my mortgage and I lost everything. Company called gulf keystone, They found billions of barrels of oil, I was 64K up at one point and didn’t top slice (32k stake) as I thought it still should be multiples of that. Anyway I have a much more balanced portfolio now And would feel very uncomfortable with all my eggs in one basket again. There are lots of good potential companies that could multi bag in this area, love hemp, fast forward et cetera, so you could easily spread your risk a little. Good luck tho
Now back to buying 5p
Seems the shorters are quiet atm
