The tax system in this country is antiquated and unfair. There is one rule for the poor (masses) and another rule for the mega rich. The richer the person the more they are valued by the State. The poor (masses) have no power to fight back. They are most likely to only have one property whereas the mega rich have how many? Homes, yachts, etc. Until the tax system is equalised and modernised I stand by my comments. The poor are an easy target for successive Governments to fill their coffers.
Have been trying to sell another share to top up GGP. Guess what, I am unable to get a quote. I wonder why???

Morning all, I'm just catching up. Quick word on inheritance tax. So, elderly working-class person who's paid tax on his earnings all his life and been told by successive Governments to buy his own family home, scrimps and saves and does just that. He provides for his family all his life. Born in this country and never takes a penny in benefit. Every penny that goes into his family home has already been taxed. So why should his widow pay inheritance tax at all? It's a double tax. And if someone buys a house from their savings or their PAYE earnings or manages to go up the property ladder for a larger family home, why are they charged stamp duty? It's a double tax. That money has already been taxed once. Where does it end? Governments fleece the working class multitude in fear of the wealthy taking their money abroad.

For me, there's only GGP, and ERIS.

Leading on from TomtheBomb's useful relinking to Paddy's pics,(ta), what is the actual size of the area in miles that GGP and NCM have a licence for? Providing the licences could be approved, with such a mineral asset-dense area, would it not be cheaper to open cast mine?

I don't approve of scarring landscapes with open cast mining. I've seen it in India and it's despicable and ugly. But I just wondered, would it ever be an option for them?

AJBennett, it's money and greed. Advances in technology have always been held back by those things. Concorde was superb but it was too expensive. And look at Nicola Tesla - died in poverty surrounded by pigeons, because J P Morgan refused to stump up more cash for the research, and Tesla told him he wanted the technology to be free to everyone.
