Yes! Even if 1 company in a “merger” was doing “half well” it might turn into a “positive”...but when both sides are spending and losing money “hand over fist” (relative to the size of the company) then I would seriously think twice about where the positives are for this potential merger, apart from the obvious that it reduces competition....but only ever so slightly as Simba is one of the Less well known “struggling to survive” brands
The very best of luck to all existing shareholders that this deal goes through for you, as it proves what I have said for a while here, that there is no way Eve can survive with all the current competition in this market unless mergers or other companies drop out of the market!...And if the proposed merger does for some reason fail...Then run for hills as the SP will plummet and you will soon be visiting 3p or less territory, or you could see 10p-15p+ if it is a “good deal” for Eve and goes through okay. Very interesting!

2 Big Loss making companies become 1 Mega loss making Company....Brilliant!
"Eve posted losses of £19.2m on £34.8m sales last year. Questions linger over Simba and Eve, given that Amazon has entered the market."
I really hope for all current Investors that this does "turn around" but I get sick of reading "fake positive crap here" and have every right to give my opinion (which is negative at present and for very good reasons)as a previous major Investor (and maybe Future if by some miracle it does turn around!) and Yes I am very "bitter" with the company and managment. Eve have one record NOT to be proud of!....The biggest falling share Price ever on AIM!...-96.5% from 130.5p to 5p! Plus disgusting behaviour by Managment a few months ago when an RNS said they had secured extra funding "At a price significantly higher than the prevailing" (which was then 16p so I then bought some more shares on this "positive news"), only for EVE to release another RNS a few weeks later to say funding had actually been secured at 10p, which devastated the SP further. They should be reprimanded for a major breach of "misleading Investors" for this! Plus as 80% of the funding was "Woodford"....that should be another big worry for current Investors shouldnt it?? IN MY OPINON!!
And Today's drop is maybe something to do with the fact that more than 10x the amount of shares have been SOLD (30k+) than bought!! (3k) rather than "A general fall" as you say...whatever one of them is?
Yes i have also seen Eve's new advert in lots of places....on ITV and Sky Prime time TV Slots....With all this "positivity" around Eve's recent heavy marketing as you say, i might be tempted to buy back in myself now the SP is "on its arse?" or then again is Expensive Prime Time TV Adverts and heavy marketing just going to add to their already ridiculous Cash Burn levels, without having the Major effect required to raise their revenues significantly enough and to try and also now compete with the dozens of other “Mattress In a box” firms that have sprung up everywhere over the past year or so, (Emma, Simba, Lesesa, Casper etc.. etc)...copying Eve's original idea? mmmm..Time will tell if they can survive without the need for another Share Price Destroying "Placing"for more cash, before they Burn through the £12m they had left at the end of June!
Lots of Sells going on.....Best Get out while you still can (above 5p) and cut your losses...September update another 4 weeks+ away...Plenty of time to drop much further by then....People here talking nonsense about "double figures" before the end of the year and some people even posted "20p today" on the morning after the RNS because they thought a 50% Loss cut was "good news" but failed to notice the major flaw in the Trading Update that "Revenues are going backwards" Eve went into double figures for about 5 minutes on RNS Trading Update day (10p) a few weeks ago, when after that Average to Poor Trading Update, anyone with any sense took a good opportunity to DITCH them! I managed to escape at 8.5p thank God, but i still lost alot of money but nearly half of what i would of lost by holding on as a major recovery is sadly years away...If at all??
Yes agree, looks a good advert..Well maybe The " Sleepy Sloth"at EVE is in charge of the new "Retail partnerships" with Argos, Dunelm and Homebase , because a quick check on all their Websites and search for "Eve" products...non listed on 2/8/19 yet?? If H2 is going to be a turnaround in Revenue's...then that "lazy Sloth" better wake up very quick!! ha... Just a final point..."Argos" really!!, what a joke and waste of more Cash and resources!!!! Who the hell is going to buy an Eve mattress from Argos, when they eventually get it listed on their website...
1) There are a choice of no less than 137 different makes on offer by Argos already! 2) Argos seen as "cheap" supplier not a home for expensive mattress like Eve! ....3) They are already selling many other makes of Memory Foam mattress', so chances of lots of sales greatly reduced, as most others are cheaper, which Argos customers are mainly looking at the cost!
No wonder the S.P is at a 52 week low and heading lower before Eve September trading update! Good luck you are going to need it, if you still hold shares!
I totally agree with your point that Eve appears to have a very good Team in place now, but they don’t have “magic wands” to change what their competition is doing! It’s like you having shares in Tesco before they announce their Sales Revenues are down -8% from last year (Like Eve), but their competitors (say Aldi for example) their Revenues are up 173%! (Like Emma) so how you are “pleased” at that news is beyond belief! This mattress in a box thing is not “new and groundbreaking”...it has been around for years and I don’t see bed shops “closing down” everywhere across the UK, unlike say Clothes shops where for instance Boo Hoo has really disrupted the High Street and Boo Hoo make a profit....unlike Eve are very unlikely to for a very long time, if at all unless a monumental turn around happens ? Also Beds are completely different and a once in 8-10 Year purchase. This is from your own post a few weeks ago..”it turns out that they expect Eve to grow 84% year-on-year, on average, which is extremely buoyant, to start to make a profit by 2021”. When in fact Growth is backing backwards! So what more can I say??
I can’t see how it can be “good news for Eve” to hear that their rival Emma’s growth is up 173 per cent from 2018, when Eve’s Revenues are going backwards at -8% as a group and a very worrying -29% in France. The excuse of “cutting back” on spend does not wash with me at all, as their cash burn spend is still ridiculous , even after recent cuts to losses, they are still big “losses” and especially as currently achieving “Negative” growth. Sounds like Emma has took a big lead and “Eve” is getting left behind in Emma’s tracks? Maybe another obscene amount of spending on marketing that they cannot afford will help? I really hope Eve can come good...but it is “Hope”. Time will tell!
As a once big investor and believer that Eve could possibly turn things around with their new Team and strategy ....but sine the last trading update I have completely changed my mind.....
Final results 12/3/19. Trading update Completion of share placing with investors, raising £11.7m (net of expenses) and £0.9m media for equity commitment against future media spend with Channel 4;
Closing cash at 28 February 2019 of £17.8m
trading update for the six months ended 30 June 2019 (the 'Period'). Net cash at the end of the Period was £12.5m....
So from 1st March 2019 to end of June 2019 (4 months) and to include their “50% loss deduction” Eve are still spending approx 1.325 million per month .(that was with very little marketing costs - now they have ramped up marketing spend again!) Therefore they will need another “Share price destroying” placing for more cash in around 9 months(or less) time from June 2019, so around March 2020....coupled with Revenues going backwards and more spend on marketing it doesn’t take a genius to work out that unless Sales Revenues take a monumental upturn to help reduce the huge cash burn and losses, then sadly there is only one way this company is heading!
Jackie..."This is only going one way up north" and "One Way Ride"....mmmm Sorry after that "Average to Poor" RNS last week due to Revenues going backwards... I really dont see this getting towards 10p again for a very very long time, If at All?? In fact it's going "South" at a great pace! Another 8% down this morning! ...next stop 5 or maybe 4p?
SR- Good article on Eve’s new marketing campaign and yes new Advert looked good last night on ITV. It is certainly not a “partnering deal” with ITV, just a purchase of Airtime on ITV ( which will be very expensive for Eve at prime time! ) Let’s hope they do keep a close eye on their marketing spend this time, as it has previously been massively “out of control” and contributed to their huge Overspend. Sure their tie in with C4 TV will be wisely utilised and I hope the results on Thursday will be encouraging and prompt the start of a what will no doubt be a “Long slow Road to recovery” for Eve.....as for all the nonsense talk of a “1 or 2 bagger” on Thursday results....I think not! I mistakenly bought into Eve at 15p but have averaged down to 10p and will be very surprised and happy if we get back over 10p this year...but fingers crossed for some positive news and the huge previous losses Eve have made to substantially reduce and hope they can eventually turn a profit in the next couple or few years ?? ??
Jackie...can’t see how EVE will strike a “major deal with ITV” as they are already signed up with a share offering to Channel 4 television in a previous RNS announcement! Just looking at your two previous comments on 2 other companies. (ITX AND MTFB) And I quote you from MTFB....Motif Bio21 Mar 2019 13:47
“Don’t know much about Motif bio but some connections in the US are going to give them a strong backing could be the reason behind the rise” where you posted “fake news” on these companies also and then said the share prices would soon rise, only for both companies SP to “collapse”. Please do not post any more “false” news for Eve!
Eve’s new Baby / Toddler Cot Bed looks a brilliant idea to me! So versatile and also has good storage underneath. I reckon People will also pay a Premium for their new Baby or toddler. Another sting to their Bow and hopefully good profit from it too. Well I hope so because I am 40% down on my 40k investment at the moment ?? C’mon Eve! ??

So should I Simply assume this will also affect PBin there current expansion of the USA?...
A £ 3.6million Sell this morning...Someone knows something to SELL that much, at this Low SP, but As I said last week... PB well over valued according to “Simply Wall Street” which has the SP currently valued at 87p! So even Jefferies have them Overvalued at there price target of 94p....100p by Christmas?
Sain & Cyber thanks for your comments yesterday to my post...Cyber you where Spot on with your insight yesterday that Bricks Might increase there fee in the UK. I see that Bricks SP even though 50% down this year, is still well over valued according to “Simply Wall Street” which has the SP currently valued at 87p! So even Jefferies have them Overvalued at there price target of 94p. I hope they are both wrong and SP does go up tomorrow , but this rapid global expansion is costing Bricks a small fortune and any signs of weakness in the expansion will cause further big drops in SP I reckon! Interesting to see what tomorrow brings???
It all Hinges on the USA progress now?
