Eqtec signs deal with Ebioss and Urbaser
21 March 2019 by EWB Staff
Deal will see gasification technology used in Bulgaria, Greece, Macedonia and potentially Romania
Ireland-based Eqtec has confirmed it has signed an agreement with Ebioss to use its gasification technology in new power plant builds.
Eqtec, which is listed on the London Stock Exchange, issued a statement through the exchange yesterday.
According to the statement Ebioss, which is Eqtec’s largest shareholder, has signed an "exclusive collaboration agreement with Urbaser".
The agreement relates to developing energy-from-waste gasification projects in "Bulgaria, Greece, Macedonia and potentially Romania", according to the statement.
Subject to Urbaser carrying outs its own technical due diligence, these developments will use Eqtec’s gasification technology.
The statement also makes it clear Eqtec "is not party" to the deal, which is non-binding at this stage.
Most recently, Eqtec signed a deal in January to deploy its gasification technology in a facility being built in the US, however, last year it pulled out of developing two waste-gasification plants in the UK.
