I am a long term holder and I don't have any problem with nexts comment-i think the dispute is semantic.the reality is that unlike most businesses with a linear range of outcomes, sng really only has 2 outcomes,dependent on the final trial results.it is therefore effectively a 2 horse race.the 'gamble' is however an informed one as we have a lot of existing information. In my view success is significantly more likely than failure,and the reward from success is significantly greater than the loss from failure, so the bet is a no brainer provided you can accept the risk.

I totally agree with Saxondale.SNG looking in pole position,and assuming P3 for SNG is successful there should logically then also be a place for Faron's IV version .It would provide fresh impetus to re-examine this,and if interferon is as effective as we believe possibly displacing steroids in some circumstances.

Strange as it sounds I think the vaccine news could be good for SNG aswell as for the world. I think we have had less attention than we deserve because of doubts over both our capacity and the price of the treatment (compared to dexamethasone etc).In the situation where therapeutics are needed for a somewhat smaller population I think the potential effectiveness of our treatment will outweigh those reservations.

I am still here and have topped up below 100.delighted about progress on vaccines as essential for the world,and there will still be plenty of room for effective therapeutics. SNG share price fall complete overreaction

This is a very promising study,the only negative being the small sample size.It must increase our confidence in a positive outcome from our own trials.

I don't think she is referring to interferon. It sounds more like monoclonal antibodies such as those taken by Trump

I have posted on this topic some time ago as I am a shareholder in both companies. The main proprietary interferon of ILC (alpha 14) shows great promise as an anti viral (among other things) and may well prove to be effective against covid.However ILC is a start up and trials are at an early stage(I would guess they are at least 2 years behind SNG).Alpha 14 is not generally available and has no safety history. The suggestion of jumping ship from SNG and moving to ILC is in any case a non starter because ILC is not publicly traded and shareholders like me are angel investors who have provided Seed capital.In truth the 2 companies are in no way direct competitors at this time.SNG should be evaluated on its own merits without reference to ILC.

This is definitely not guaranteed to go to the placing price. I followed Scancell hoping for just that recently and instead the share price rose inexorably after their placing and I missed a good opportunity.There is no reason why this should not also happen with SNG if the concensus view is that prospects have improved. My own view is that the RNS is excellent provided you are happy to accept greater risk for a potentially higher return.I am, and will top up if there is any short term weakness.Logically I think the share price should rise and any short term fall will only be the result of short term traders being spooked at a placing at below the current price.

I am an angel investor in ILC aswell as an investor in SNG and their alpha 14 interferon is extremely promising. However as mentioned here trials are at a very early stage and it is at least a couple of years behind SNG.

I invested last week following the rather surprising share price reaction to the potential covid breathalyser test.The waste water RNS is more significant in its implications for future contracts than for the size of the contract being announced. When selling new technology the first contract is always the hardest. This contract should pave the way for many more as it provides huge additional credibility.

Opinions seem to be broadly split between day traders who want any announcement to be a trigger for an immediate share price increase(regardless of content) and longer term investors.As a longer term investor I prefer to remain focused on the fundamentals.I believe the product to be an effective treatment(for Covid initially, for other ailments over time).There are a number of fairly complex regulatory and logistical hurdles to overcome and I trust the Board to adopt the most effective approach in the circumstances. I would expect occasional RNSs to update on progress and do not automatically expect any particular RNS to be earth shattering. More importantly they should indicate the direction of travel,and hopefully not need to reveal any material setbacks.For me this RNS meets this requirement and should be seen in the context of modest but positive progress.

I agree with the general sentiment of Bitethebull.there is no shame in making money from SNG but I would much prefer that covid had never happened and no such opportunity to make money existed.the one sentiment of some fellow SNG investors (a minority)I find difficult to accept is a desire for alternative treatments/cures to fail(particularly vaccines).finding an effective vaccine and/or the best possible treatments is paramount ,regardless of the impact on our profits

I agree with qd22.i invested in SNG in the strong belief it could provide a therapy forCovid based on the attributes of interferon b1(I also invested in Faron on same basis) .I invested in 4D based on potential therapies for IBS etc,and see any treatment for Covid as an unexpected (but highly welcome) bonus.regardless of covid I still see 4D as undervalued,and positive results in trials for any one of its potential therapies will result in a share price rise.

Agree that fundamentals have not changed.i am long term holder at 27p,took some profits to rebalance portfolio at between 220p and 250p,but have just topped up at 197p.will retain core holding and use the top up shares to trade if big movements prior to next significant news
