Newbyoldy, I think the decision to wait for result of the election is the reason regardless of the timing of the election delay. If the Chinese high-ups have sounded our Hasina then it’s Hasina they need in power.

Assuming they both agree on the deal yes it will be very early Jan imo so no real difference to us. Volume will be better in January anyway.

Having said that, access to the legal system for contracts in this country might be a challenge. It is probably a delay as has been said to make sure Hasina is in power. That’s who the current political relationship is with. When Tang issued the 31Dec date the Bangla elections were a week earlier, plenty of time to finalise the deal. Now it’s the 30 Dec it’s no chance. So by working the above through my head, it should be in place and of the first week in Jan (4th). If the above is correct, Hasina has to win. The Chinese must have had the nod from her.

Neither boss, ours or the Chinese are Christians I very much doubt anyway.

About the delay. They were duty bound to tell us that the 31 Dec wasn’t going to be met, but they haven’t give us another date, say + 1 month. So really it could be the first week in the new year. Looking forward to next year immensely now.
