I won't know until I try, but I asked HL at the time whether I could transfer the shares over to them and they said they couldn't accommodate the transfer which is why I tried II at an earlier poster's suggestion. Also, I don't seem to be getting any definitive opinion on Canadian Tax liabilities on profits as a UK resident. Could be 25%, could be 15% or could be nothing depending on what you read. With II's tax person but no feedback after a few days, like I am the first UK resident to have traded Canadian shares ?!?
No breakdown of the time for each stage I am afraid, I just got notified when they were added to my account.
Finally got the shares into the Interactive Investor account I opened just so I could sell them when the price is right. Seems as if Halifax were dragging there feet, took just under 3 months in the end from start to finish. So don't leave this to the last minute if you want to be able to sell these on TSX.
I have opened an account with Interactive Investor and they are in the process of moving the shares over. Would probably be worth trying them as I didn't have much luck anywhere else. They would then guide you through the process with what you need to do / provide etc.
OK have just opened an account with II, and their estimate to transfer these over is 7 weeks in case anyone else is thinking of doing the same. Though whether it turns out to be as (relatively) straightforward as that remains to be seen as all online, and I had to select VLE and not the delisted VLU ticker. Time will tell I guess....
Thanks, will contact them to make sure they can do it. So much volatility on VLE TSX at the moment you could make a fortune!! 20-30+ cent ranges some days.....
Has anyone actually bothered / tried this? Halifax who are my UK broker don't offer the facility to do this, and nor apparently to Hargreaves Lansdowne, so looks like I need to find a broker who can accept the UK shares from Halifax, and then do whatever they need to do to be able to buy / sell on TSX. Can't imagine VLU will be relisted on LSE anytime soon otherwise I might just hold out to avoid the aggravation.....
If Google is to be believed, and I have no reason not to believe it, VLE ended the day at CAD 0.60 yesterday which is approx 37.5 in UK money, but not a peep here...... looks like any good news hasn't yet made its way over the pond. Now that would be worth a punt for the Traders of you out there if trying to get in before the crowd with its current price :)
I bought in in Dec 19 after one of the biggish drops to the low 30s thinking it should bounce back within a year based on its cash position and potential. To say the performance has been underwhelming based on those 2 factors since then is an understatement. I think the truth is, while Guest is at the helm, despite talking a good game, has delivered very little so far and don't see that changing because why does he need to. No large shareholder on his case pushing for change / improvement. I smiled when some of the posters jumped on the slight rise Monday / yesterday thinking this was going to take off, and probably now realising they misjudged it. Its only stubborness that is keeping me in with an average of 30, but if it ever gets near 40 I am definitely out. If you look at Director buys 2 years ago, it was around this time that they bought some, so wouldn't be surprised if it was the same thing here. Or the company buying some as part of the compensation package whilst having delivered not much. Lets hope I get proven wrong in the very near future so my 40 target gets reached.
Wow. So after the bullish sentiment of just over 2 weeks ago, the price has managed to be driven down to early December levels on not very much as far as I can see. Games or........???
even a grands worth with Halifax. Negotiated order only. Which has yet to be negotiated by all accounts :( But maybe that's a good thing if things moving.

This is in the public domain so hopefully no issue in publishing it. All looking pretty positive I guess.
OK I think we get it if you feel Earache is not being balanced elsewhere, but don't think you should make it your mission to effectively bring negative slants here as some kind of revenge play on Earache. If your comments are balanced and factual then no one can have any beef. Holds true for any share out there. I do get your frustration tho, as have seen the campaigns to ramp or deramp over the years. Don't like or agree with either approach purely for personal gain. But when has that ever stopped anyone....
I am still in albeit small. I only post when some BS-er appears with an obvious agenda :) I seem to have managed to scare two off in recent times albeit Admin didn't seem to like it..... The company with it customer base and products is worth more than where it is at the moment, so no point baling out now.

Not so new to shares if you remember GKP, I got burned by them a few years back....amongst others.
Well lets hope for a bit of competition between them (or someone else) then :)
ION probably have their hands full, however FIS Global could do worse than have a look. They aren't exactly a minnow.
Unfortunately this isn't the first and certainly won't be the last time a BOD misleads investors. If you look at what happened to XEL, legalised robbery. I lost about £50k, many other lost multiples of that, pension pots being obliterated in the process for some. There was a movement to get an investigation done, supposedly even MPs were called upon to give it some traction. All came to nothing as far as I know, BOD members many millions richer having milked the company for everything they could over a 7ish year period. If there was no skulduggery there behind the scenes then I think I must be a Martian....won't invest again after that (not that I have anything left to invest now anyway!)
From the BBC:- "The government has ordered a fast-track investigation into directors at the failed construction firm Carillion. The UK's second biggest construction firm went into liquidation on Monday, after running up losses on contracts and struggling with heavy debts. The Business Secretary has asked for an investigation by the Official Receiver to be broadened and fast-tracked. The conduct of directors in charge at the time of company's failure and previous directors will be examined." Maybe there are Cabinet Ministers who were invested.......
