MTB is not correct that the purchase price has nothing to do with the value of equity.
The business has a value (the entity value) and deducting the debt will give you the equity value. We know what the assets cost, so they must have a value. We know they have debt and that has a value. As long as the future earnings or the asset value is perceived to be greater than the debt, then the equity has a value.
My guess is that the equity value is greater than the current share price, and therefore I think that this is a takeover target because of the low share price and the Phoenix aspects. Obviously, DYOR.
