Yep- the commentary is always the key bit- with inflation still a fair bit higher than target, economy over recent months not showing significant struggles either, it’s remains a balance so his comments were not surprising. He’s of course always been data led and can’t go too soon or too late. I think it’s a good call to go back in.

Trump changes his mind daily, so I think gold remains a good bet at least until the 90day pause is over and/or tarrifs in general concluded one way or other within the 90days (incl outlier which is China). Looks like he won’t sack Powell, Powell will cut rates for obvious reasons but at. his own pace. There will also be residual uncertainty issues in the Trump term which will continue- dollar could recover ground which is bad for gold, but the extent is likely to be limited for now. As for silver, used in products as primary drover so reacts differently and does better when economic indicators recover.

I do appreciate when someone sells, they post the sell, prior to the price drop, not sya they sold after a big drop is in. Just seems odd to me. Equally, if people wish to post their buys, it's best to post them before the rise, like BeardedDragon did this morning. This adds credibility to the post.

Yes but gold was around 3006 at the time after a mini pullback, so on a down. All things are never equal. When gold price has been flat since tsx close and u.k. time during next morning-, there is normally a gap i agree for currency fluctuations etc. Pre trading happens on tsx as well as other indices. If trading was as simple as watching the 2 indices, people would traded both indices and have guaranteed income so it doesn’t work this way.

The amount of experts who predicted a crash since 2021 are the same experts who predicted a crash since 2008! The covid drop was short lived so sort of a crash- if you look at the markets over the past 30years those who have waited for a crash have lost out of massive, massive, massive gains.

I said in 2021 here when the “experts” were predicting were predicting a crash that a would be a soft landing and this still holds true.

So much for those paid YouTube analysts…

Of course, we took the mandatory 1.7p per share overnight drop (approx 2.25c) overnight- so the SP currently @125.7 is in reality about 127.4 approx. So a rise today. Pound strength makes a little lower for UK investors.

Not pushing inflation higher

Likely Sept rate cut and not July- so moves again.

So for FED, more people going into workforce- therefore good for GDP, and with wages not going up, another good.

Good for US economy
