That was my trade which took place early this morning. Unsure why it was reported as such a late trade. It was purely a speculative punt which I put into an ISA. It's a long term punt. I like the management as I am also in Amerisur. I always follow good management.
there are many investors on this board who don't seem to realise that even after the main Assets are sold off there are still considerable debts that will still be outstanding. The Equity shares are worthless. Miracles can happen but not here Im afraid. Frame your Certificates and claim your loss. Management are to blame for the shambles that is Afren. No legal action will get any value back in your shares.
Whatever !. I have moved on and made up my losses here elsewhere.
I can't understand why people are still posting. Afren is dead. Accept your losses like myself and move on.
There is-nothing else to comment on. The shares have no value and will never be tradable. The Debts are so far in excess of the Equity value that there will be no value attached to the equity shares. Even the Bondholders won't get all their money back. It's not right what has happened but that's the risk you pay for investing. Those that wish to pursue Legal action will be throwing money away. A lesson learned for me. Don't follow the crowd. Some may have lost their life savings here. It's a sad state of affairs.
At least we will be able to claim a loss and use it against any other Capital Gains Tax Gains made this or future Tax years. A small crumb of comfort I know. An absolute disaster of an investment. Glad my loss was only 19k. I was going to pile in for the now defunct open offer. It did not take long for the Administrators long to delist the shares. We all need to move on and make up our losses elsewhere
Afren is not in the same league as Range Resources. I'm not a quitter and I am a very successful private investor. If you believe in miracles then dream on.
It's the end of Afren as we know it. We have all lost our investment here. Let's move on. No legal action here will result in any monies being paid to the shareholders. The Administrators will sell off all the Assets and repay as much of the debt as possible. There will still be an enormous shortfall. The only plus for me is that I can use my loss here against my other Capital Gains and reduce my Capital Gains Tax bill.
HI "The Times April 14, 2006 Rumour of the day Chaco Resources, the South America-focused oil and gas explorer, closed unchanged at 13¼p in spite of talk that the group is set to update investors on progress at its Puerto Lopez Oeste field in Columbia in the coming weeks. The field, controlled through a joint venture in which Chaco has control, is rumoured to be delivering flow rates ahead of previous expectations."
Compared with most other investors on this board I am in this share for the long term and have no reason to already take my 50% profit. In 12 months time this share could be 50p - 100p. I will be happy to take my profit when my gain is 100%+. For the many short term/day traders taking profits is the name of the game and good luck to them. This share price has a long way to go and while I expect many flutuations in the share price due to the shart trem investor the future looks very positive. As always DYOR !
I dont think you will see 12p again ! Only good news to come. The share price may fall back to the 15p level but no lower. I suggest you top up soon befroe it is too late !
I meant 3 weeks not 23 weeks - a typing error. I am surprised nobody has commented on this
Smallcaptrader sold out after praising this to the heavens in his previous article. I wonder why he sold after only 23 weeks
According to the FT it looks like NO DEAL. Only offering 85p
Just copied you in on a posting form ADVFN messageboard. A poster spoke to Financial Director I just had quite a lengthy and interesting conversation with Martin Groak. The synopsis, bearing in mind of course it's nothing new and there's a limit to what he can say, is that Primavera is progressing as expected. The licence was most certainly discussed last week and owing to the holidays the most senior person was not immediately available for any potential final approval. That said they're hoping something may be forthcoming this or next week but naturally there can always be some quirks in the system. Regarding Paraguay, things again progressing as expected, although they have had to rejig some of the media presentations/formats etc. In summary we are likely to receive a steady stream of newsflow this year."
