224p close of business today,still holding.

Most insurers pay out less than 5% in dividend so are probably overpriced imo,none of them are going to increase revenues greatly in uk as it's a highly competitive market (opinion). Esure is paying out a smidge under 17p in dividend so a fair valuation for a 5% dividend would be about 330p. Therefore undervalued and quite possibly a takeover target given its capital size in my opinion as a humble amateur investor.

That's why I stick to traditional investing, spread betting is like aim investing it chews up beginners.

Current buy sell difference with hl on esure is just 0.2 p

I appreciate you trying to help on the spread betting front but hl doesn't cater for it in sipps and I'm happy to leave it. As for Tsb well there's going to be more takeovers this year as companies are desperately trying to find ways to expand their eps.More mergers in the insurance industry I reckon and esure could be a prime target given its size and pe,only guesswork though.

my total cost was about 210, - 50 funds to shares 150 about stamp duty 5.95 second dealing .At current price 212 p ,all costs have been covered and 271 in profit.Anyway aim is to hold and increase holding with dividend, but a sell target of 260-265 plus final dividend would be ok.

1125 share top up @211.89p Which gives me a final dividend of 1591 pounds, ex 9/4 ,13600 X 11.7p Worth holding on to.

Never got involved in shorting really not sure how things would pan out with your short/consolidation

out of funds switched into esure 209.00 p disappointed not to get around 207p price moved up quickly, anyway juicy final div 11.7p ex 9/4.eps should be boosted next year from go compare takeover(other 50%)

I was going to say short morrisons but my note3 (phone) ran out of charge div down to no less than 5p next year meaning around 5p next year lol any income investors/funds will be running a mile.

It should boost eps and lower pe but to what extent I haven't researched
