Dear Angelis - Oh dear, Angelis!
It's Friday mate - Poets day. We're all down the pub!
On 7th Feb you posted 'I'll leave you to figure this one out, scrat- bit of a head'scrat'cher. If you (or anyone else!) gets it I'll buy them a pint.'
Well I've tried and all I can come up with is either :-
1) The first London bus "omnibus", operated by George Shillibeer, begins service between Marylebone Road and Bank Junction (passed Pentonville Prison) on 4th July 1829.
2) Cornerstone (oooohhh) laid for 2nd US mint at Chestnut and Juniper St, Philadelphia, the "Grecian Temple" on 4th July 1829
If either of the above are correct I claim my pint. If not, give us a window into your mind, scary or not, and explain your name so that we may perhaps have a better understanding of you.
I know it annoys some folk when people post about 'lots of green' appearing on their view of this BB but I get annoyed at folk who feel that way, so here goes.
I've said before that I have filtered certain individuals on this BB for a long time because I deem their posts to be at best annoying and generally worthless. Those responding to the many posts from my filtered individuals seem to agree with my opinions of them.
I'm delighted to say that I have been unable to read 61 posts today (and no doubt still counting) from my Room 101 group! Chin, chin suckers!
Dear Quibbles, I hope you don't mind me calling you that, we're all chums on here. Well, mostly! Anyway, just had a call from a medium pal of mine who says dear Peter (O'Toole) has been in touch and he says 'tell Q I've told him once!' Please don't shoot the messenger. Chin, chin!
Scrat - saw it being recorded at Sunderland some years ago when Humph (superb) and TB-T were still going strong. As always laughed fit to burst - and Samantha was as lovely as I'd always thought she would be!
I made the decision 2 or 3 years ago that as well as Mr Q having dyslexia/Tourettes/autism/ADHD or whatever, that he was also an idiot and accordingly filtered him. Since then I notice that some here still read his interminable posts and argue with him - a lost cause when it's with an idiot. To everyone their own however.
For myself, I spend the time I save in not doing so by enjoying whatever life has to offer, such as going for a sprightly (for my age) walk, as I have done earlier, since SFA will happen here until later in the day when the people whose salaries we pay may deign to enlighten us as to whatever is going on.
They asked for our support recently and it was given. Payback time starts now I reckon.
Interesting note from SOLG that -
'The Board further notes that if the shares held directly and indirectly by certain major shareholders were excluded, all resolutions would have passed with over 80% of the votes cast in favour of the resolutions.'
I'd call that very, very positive from those who aren't after stealing SOLG on the cheap!
I'll forgive them for delaying the announcement because of this bit of diligence.
Just a reminder of this from the SOLG website.
'The results of the voting at the Meeting will be announced through a regulatory information service and will appear
on the Company’s website at www.solgold.com.au and under the Company’s issuer profile on SEDAR at
www.sedar.com on 22 December 2022 or shortly thereafter.'
Presumably after they've been translated into French.
Chief Operating Officer Americas Craig Jones will oversee all of Newcrest operations on an interim basis, both effective Monday.
Wasn't he the Newcrest appointee on the SOLG Board a couple of years ago? I vaguely recollect him being well disposed towards us, or is that wishful thinking, and does it matter anyway?
