RE: Drill report25 Oct 2025 12:42
Regarding the perceived lack of an enthusiastic response to the drilling results, I think there are a number of factors.
Firstly, the volatility in the preceding days didn't help and the market response was not clear.
Secondly, the emphasis in the report seemed to be on quantity of drilling over results.
Thirdly, they are highly technical and I read them, but will be honest, I rely on others (hugely valued contributors) to give a clear interpretation as there is so much information and the diagrams require at least a fair degree of geological/mining knowledge. If you are a very long term holder you will recall the ridiculing of '400 parts per billion' or similar reports that precede the successful Havieron strikes. Then we got 'every drill hitting gold'.
Now, we are drilling new areas AND looking for Telfer extension. The results interpretation depend on comparison with expectations.
Finally, SD is a much more staid reporter than GH. Yes, he expressed excitement in interviews and at shareholder meetings, but results are reported in a businesslike and calm manner.
For me, I just trust the company, and if they are ahead of the plan and the plan is on track, then I am happy.
All that said, I agree with others that next week is a good time to see hear that excitement and confidence in his voice again.
A revised Telfer mine life and a Havieron mine plan are the simple fact/figures I wait for. With confidence, I might add.
