Roundtable Discussion; The Future of Mineral Sands. Watch the video here.
Hi SL,
The language they use when referring to this in the webcast in less than concrete. However it is intimated that they’re hoping the other part will be fully government backed- I’ll try and dig up the exact wording later.
On another note, and please all feel free to shoot me down here! A while ago there was some interesting debate as to how exactly the project qualifies under the IPA guarantee. A few people came to the conclusion that the rules would only allow those aspects of the project relating to transport to qualify for the guarantee, a large part of this being the MTS. So, the co. seem to be implying that there’s may be an IPA guarantee forthcoming for $1.5 billion- look at the revised capital estimate for the MTS - coincidence? :)
Hi SL,
I interpreted this a little differently after listening to the latest conference call. It's my current understanding that the $1.5 billion referred to is the non guaranteed part, which will hopefully be matched by the UK gov guaranteeing the other $1.5 billion- which then presumably is as easy as going to any consortium of banks and essentially asking them to lend that remaining $1.5 billion money with zero risk to them.
"Their knowledge of EPC projects in the mining sector is hugely valuable, as is their experience of construction projects on Teesside."
Eluding to strategic partnering of sorts there?
Great spot wwguk :)
Hi Myo,
Completely agree with your synopsis. The only issue it creates is that any immediate reaction to positive news is massively limited in its upside potential by the overhang of shorted shares. I'd have preferred a steady churn to continue to get them cleared but however they go, it'll be good to see them gone!
Please can we stop talking about SP with no relation to what the Market Cap is!!
Proactive investor is correct...I can't see any difference between your two sentences Andy? The Royalty agreement is well understood
One of the due diligence items referenced in today's RNS is presumably the mandated bank letters? This would align with the information from 2016
I interpreted the same PAAA- I’ll have a quick look back at the documents but think you’ve hit the nail on the head. It was a very savvy deal from her-finance risk removed before she commits anything, and a degree of construction risk removed. Excellent, positive news regarding the project moving forward from what I can see
HL removed my shares from my ISA to my normal fund and Share account as, I think, you can't hold an unlisted share within an ISA...either way, just more damage that came from the whole saga!
Annoys me to see people referring to a 400 million equity raise like it's set in stone when there are multiple options on the table
I know not mentioned by the co., but with the cash flow and profit projections, share buybacks at some point are extremely feasible- for those holding very long term it's another option for increased value.
Picked some up at 23.50 this morning. Felt like I was robbing a bank, even if i've seen a huge figure wiped from my PF value this week.
Check page 26 of the presentation for a nice little soother. NPV goes up and up and up.
Staggering ecomnomics here if we reach 20 MTPA (and not unhealthy at 10 MTPA). If dilution happens, it happens, it gets this built. Holding with a proper investment timeframe of 5 - 10 years from now should see us all be very happy holders!
Considering he spent a couple of years selling absolutely jack all with Cloudtag, and getting paid rather nicely, I don't wish him well
Timelines just seem to be slipping a bit: thought that TORPs would be finalised by now and that bank commitment letters would have been received in their entirety.
It’s my hope that the half year results are being held back for that very reason- a good platform to reveal some excellent bank feedback?
Would love to hear people’s reasons as to why they’ve seen fit to commit to providing more money at this stage, as HITS says. You’d need to put an absolutely stonking prospectus in front of me to persuade me to part with anything. Painful lessons have been learnt from this very company
I’d set an arbitrary deadline of the start of September for at least all of the TORPs to be in place, based on comments in the conference calls and the quarterly updates. Just starting to get a little worried, any kind of update would be welcome now
That's why consolidation would be essential
Dougal- can i ask why?
Seems like throwing good money after bad (and I did plenty of that when it was listed), especially before a prospectus comes out- even then it would have to be pretty mind blowingly good for me to consider throwing even another penny at this.
Would be intrigued to hear your reasoning! All the best.

A few snippets of interest in here in terms of what the App may contain
I'll only get my hopes up when I see a prospectus :)
