I would suppose that if Sanofi were to acquire Sarepta, that will obviously lead to renegotiations with regard to the Sarepta-Summit deal. And this may well produce a change in the agreement: whereas previously Summit had wished to keep the rights outside of the US, if a Pharma were now on board and could in fact facilitate access to the worldwide market, then it needs to be considered.
Given the company rhetoric on wanting to take DMD all the way, one would assume that another option could be the purchase of Sarepta rights to DMD US + CDiff ...
But should this be the case, then surely alongside Sarepta, Sanofi would consider a buy-out for Summit too, rather than negotiate a pick-and-chose
But for anyone reading this, this is entiremy IMHO and speculation :)
