Just search helium shortage or call boc to buy helium.you will get the answer.I am Card factory share holder myself.I believe in the company
Hi everyone, hopefully this information will help. There is a big shortage on helium. So Card might loss sales on helium balloons.just a heads up.don’t want to scare anyone just wanted to let everyone know.I have card shop myself.we have not had helium from BOC last two months.had to buy from third party x4 the price.
Hi I think you nailed on the point.Card factory done really well when recession hit in 2008.that time Clinton’s cards fell.so I think this type of condition is perfect for card factory as people won’t want to spend there money in expensive cards and gifts.so in my opinion it could be a good thing for card factory.they might start getting moonpig customers coming to card factory.but only thing is they need to advertise more about there websites.we just have to wait and see.
Hello roxburyhouse, hope you are well mate.
Happy birthday Rox.
Not yet.I think it will drop a bit more than top up
Please everyone don’t panic sell today
N1shares they can’t open more than 6 hours on Sunday as that’s government rules.
Hello everyone,
I think most of you know I have independent greeting card and gift shop in Romford.I just want to give update on my sales as it should be similar to card factory.for the first time since pandemic started last 2 weeks we are up from 2019.we were up 20% last week from 2019.when card factory announced they were 3% down from 2019 that time we were 20% down.so for my guess they should be doing really well as people are coming out to do there Christmas shopping.
I think they will get bigger discounts as I am sure they normally take longer leases.hopefully we can see sp rise every week.finger crossed
Hi Roxbury house,
So sorry could not reply you earlier.my wife is in hospital so have to look after the baby.sometimes smaller shops take more profit than having a busier shop in a expensive place.it depends on the over heads. As I can see most of the profits come from Nov to jan and Mother’s Day is huge as well.if they have a good trade that time they should be able to cover most of the payments.also kick start scheme should be really beneficial for card factory as they take on staff and government will pay 1500 for each staff they take also government will cover 24 hours pay per week for 6 months.so that should help the business a lot.also I’m sure there rent is reduced a lot as well as mine is 50% for next 5 years.so that should give them a lot of fund for paying back and invest in online business.people still not understanding card factory is a great cash generating business.it might not be Tesla which has a lot potential but it’s very steady business.
I think today’s jump is because Bank of Englands decision not to increase interest rests.so market should rebound quite well now.fingers crossed.
Also I don’t know how everyone calculate margins
When I buy a card from supplier for example £1 we sell for £2.5.but most of the times we sell 3x the buy price.as card factory makes there cards I think there margin should be 6x the manufacturing price.also with gifts at least they should make between x2.4 to x3.
Hope this helps people understand the model of the business
50% reduction it’s a huge savings.that should be a big boost for paying off their debts.
Good luck mate.need to buy us drinks when it reaches 3x
O,1 candles are always the most popular.it doesn’t matter how many you order they still go out of stock.I have the same problem every week.we are always out of stock.
Uk consumer has been mostly positive.so I think all shares will start it rise again.fingers crossed
Just to update on footfall last week as I have a shop in Romford.which is a busy town.we have 2 card factories near me.footfall has increased a lot for the last 2 weeks Friday and Saturday was almost the same as 2019.maybe 5% to 8% less.so I think people are coming to do shopping a lot more now as they are doing parties and weddings.I think we should have a good Christmas.fingers crossed.
I understand what you are saying everoptomistic. But if you look at the market.all retail stock is falling.super dry,ted baker, cineworld.they are all in feb,March level.but I don’t think there is any chance of any lockdown.so why is sp dropping.I understand the supply chain issue but that should not trigger that big drops.I think the market is a bit manipulated at the moment.as the big investors wants to get in before Christmas.that’s my guess
I am scared.feel like crying.but wont sell it.as we know by 1 year it will be around £1-£1.5 sp.
I hope it starts to go up soon.all shares are down for last 2 weeks.once market start moving up it will be back up 60p again.
Just a little update on my sales.maybe you guys might get some idea.I have put out Christmas cards(small selection)on Tuesday this week.Already I took more than 1k on Christmas cards.and I tend to see mostly all customers having a card factory bag with them.so they come to us for the cards they could not find or they want for special relations as people don’t mind spending a bit more.if you don’t have a lockdown which I don’t see happening anymore. Also the new medicine for COVID will be a game changer.I think card and gift shops should have bumper Christmas.the only worry is if we can keep up with the demand of products.I am seeing footfall has improved a lot since the school holiday has finished.I think from next week we might see even improved footfall.fingers crossed
Well done mate.I don’t understand what people were expecting today.they will be up 100% on last year.company will have cleared all there debts!!
If you check other retailers they are mostly down more than 25% on 2019.card is down only 6-7%.I think that shows how popular card factory is.They don’t have any competition on high street as independents and Clinton’s can’t compete with with price point.hopefully the sp slowly goes up from this point.
