Having worked as an Engineering Consultant to a number of large and small housing developers for over 30 years prior to retirement, I can confirm that the rules, regulations, restrictions and requirements placed upon them, often with legitimate cause and reason but sometimes due to authorities inadequacies, incompetence, staffing shortages and at times "sheer bloody mindedness" would at times make Saint Peter swear. Add that to the shortages of qualified trades (rather than JOAMON) shortages of materials and limited number of buyers (they can't afford to build more than they can realistically sell), the chances of this current government or indeed any government speeding up the house building process are akin to the second coming of Christ as a bricklayer.

To add, my average is around 40p.

So a hell of a lot of reading (whitewashing) in todays message on my HL account. No wonder it's taken so long.

I have been in and out a couple of times but a week or so ago it seemed to have reached a peak, around the £10.50 is level so exited. Then it jumped another £1!

Agree about the men's ware colours. Dreadful but so are many of the other retailers. Went looking for a light "bomber" style jacket earlier this year. Grey, beige, dark grey etc. Ended up with a lovely blue one from Brand Alley on the internet.

Sidara have said that in addition to the (now) 30p/share they will make a "capital injection" into the company. The company that they will ultimately own if their buy out goes ahead. So basically, they are paying $450M to a company they own. (Or themselves). ;-)

30p is no good for me and I suspect (hope) most others.

Are the management just happy to give this away at any price? Seems so.

Fine for those new to the market but for me, taxing a sale just adds to the cost of a move so I'd be bumping up my sale price. Could kill the housing market further down the line.

BUT, TAX, TAX, TAX, can these F-heads just learn to be more efficient instead of just milking the general public again. Time the nation stood up and said NO!

I shop in an M&S food store, their "bake in store" bread is good as are most of their other items but I agree their prices are on the high side. For this reason I only pick up stuff that's reduced and pop it straight into the freezer or use that day. Makes the purchase about the same as stuff from Tesco where I do most of my shopping or Aldi. I have a thing about the local Lidl store and won't use it.

One thing I've suffered recently in M&S is faulty charging at the till. Bar codes being read twice, reduced items going through at full price AND reduced price etc.

Anything either Starmer or Trump says should be taken with a huge bag of salt. Wouldn't trust either of them with looking after my beer while I went to the loo.

Thanks Fender5, yes there's a lot of cash lost in the attack, general running costs, NI etc are something else but all businesses have that extra burden. M&S prices have always been higher than the competition, about a year ago they were almost levelling out with the likes of Tesco but now they're way up and above again. Even the reduced items! Yet my regular visits to M&S show increased footfall compared to a year or 18 months ago. Here we have M&S, Tesco, Aldi, & Lidl. I'm a regular in the first 3 but Tesco is the main one, simply for convenience.

The IT matter seems mostly sorted, order on line again, Sparks card back in operation, the footfall in my local (mostly food) is on the rise. So why is the SP dropping?

A cautious exit this morning, taking profits but as a result have left a lot on the table unfortunately.
