That's more or less what I was getting at. We have the Press Release, which has been endlessly copied-and-pasted, but no independent evidence that SPR has established financial standing and is good for the money.

what exactly do we know about southern point resources or, to be more precise, the “spr gp1” fund? i’m struggling to find anything on google: no website, no evidence of deals (other than bmn). there’s a southern point resources at companies house with number 14312609. incorporated 23/08/2022 with £99 capital. no accounts filed as yet. i do hope this is not who we are dealing with.

The BoD must be due the prize of the century for poorly-timed strategy changes: out of UK value stocks just before they woke up, and into highly rated US growth/technology just before the collapse.

Almost half the 3.45% figure comprises finance costs i.e. the cost of borrowing . “Ongoing charges” in the latest annual report, which do not include finance costs, are 1.4%. With gearing at 35%, it’s not surprising finance costs are significant.

Agree things have been disappointing for some time. I see that the largest shareholder is listed as “The estate of Ronald Bruce Rowan (deceased)”. So your diagnosis that PIs are merely asleep may be overoptimistic.

The run up to the AGM in a couple of months might be the best time to kick some life into the bb?

46Gillingham, that sounds a reasonable call to me but the estimate depends heavily on how long the ship spends in port etc. I have no specialist knowledge of shipping (unfortunately am not yet in a position to order an ocean-going yacht) - perhaps other posters can give some input on this.

A simple calculation shows 4000h = about 24 weeks sailing time + however long is spent without the engines running (in port, refuelling etc).

The Maersk trial started in July 2016. It ended prematurely in March 2017 by which time 1370 hours out of the 4000 required had been logged. At that rate it would have taken around 2 years to complete the trial but, as Jackg says, with open ocean routes things should go quicker this time.

DaisyD, yes it’s a mystery. If there were a positive change to Keystone’s share price that would be gratifying after years of value-oriented underperformance. Jumping on the ESG bandwagon doesn’t convince. It was a great investment 30/40 years ago!

Keystone Positive Change IT has recently moved management to Baillie Gifford. Hence the rejig of their portfolio. So agree, nothing sinister here. (I have some shares in it)
