Hi Garrym79
Thanks for the reply to my post.
When posting the article I was really thinking more about US shale and the difficulties they face at this moment it time.
I will ask though, could the process be used to extract oil from the HRZ and therefore improve profitability

As I understand it we never had any intention of developing the acreage if Icewine flowed as it would
take 100 's of wells. At best we would step out with one or two wells to prove the existence over the acreage. Big boys with deep pockets would have to step in at some point anyway

This is pretty cool stuff, only been around a couple of years but they are creating a Microbial DNA Finger Print, from soil samples to determine reservoir locations.
In the Haynesville Shale,
“The first map was 70% accurate; the final map is about 86% accurate in predicting where the reservoir is,” he said."
The savings are huge in both Seismic and drilling costs, critical in Alaska. Maybe we can use this next time?

Maestro1 Yep I emailed Dave Wall but didn't get an answer. He usually answers straight away so either he wouldn't or couldn't give a reply. His announcements are often criticised for lacking in detail, he does however say it as it is with no embellishments.
