all: seeing cash move from yourself to someone else, physically, is an experience not gained when paying electronically. sadly, this coupled with the bombardment of advertising and bargains available on the internet leads to overspending by most, i find. controlling personal finances is very difficult for most. cash does help to keep people "grounded" in the financial system. like gold its "real".
bet regards john
cjmorley: ill stick with hydrogens version of events. its far more reasonable.
best wishes john.
cjmorley: then WHY have they borrowed the shares in the first place, if not to short it?
best wishes john.
cjmorley: as usual your answer is rather vague and strengthens my conviction to skip your posts
whenever they appear.
best wishes john.
cjmorley: i would dearly like you to explain to me WHY anyone would borrow 60 odd million
shares in ggp, that dont belong to them, if not to short it?
best wishes john.
plode: im sorry but your last post was rubbish! there was a sell of 100000 shares at 11:17:14 at 10.07p which was immediately cancelled and a buy at the same time, same amount, at 11.07p.
it was obviousy finger trouble on someones part.
best wishes john.
sas: i totally agree with you. theres too much "thinking" going on here and not enough "knowing".
we can only judge the facts as we know them to be now, and comment appropriately. anything else is rubbish and ultimately counter productive.
doggy: the share price is what it is because there are people out there viewing ggp with envy and want a piece of it for themselves, but dont want to pay a fair price. if it was a dog of a share it would attract no interest. be reassured by that fact.
best regards john
babyinvestor:
you are of course correct but dont forget that lse themselves are, dare i say it, part of the
establishment youre trying to "protect against".
best wishes john.
babyinvestor:
your ip idea wont work. most routers are supplied with ip addresses of either 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 from your internet provider. any device attached to such routers will have an ip address of 192.168.0.x or 192.168.1.x. so you see there'll be many ip addresses that are indistinguishable from each other. the only unique address
of individual devices is the hardware address but divulging this will probably create a
huge security problem for yourself. sorry if it sounds a bit technical but thats basically how things work. you can change your routers basic ip address (i have) to make it more unique but the majority dont, or wont.
my best wishes john.
its at times like this that investors earn their rewards, or not! keep asking yourself why you bought into ggp in the first instance.
the decisions you make now will greatly affect your future prosperity, and that of your families, make the wrong decision and
you may end up a bit wiser. make the right one and you should end up a bit wiser and considerably wealthier.
my very best wishes, john.
theyre using their best ally against you......................your own mind!
davie:
this is a very extreme example because ggp is a very exceptional once in a lifetime investment. the potential is enormous. let them play. sooner or later theyll have to reach the conclusion we arent falling for it.
best wishes john.
my take on the situation is simple. were all strangers here with a common interest and if someone says,
"i strongly recommend that you hold on to your shares because this is going to be massive, but unfortunately i have to sell a few owing to present circumstances", then what is wrong with that?
best wishes john
elise1:
in life that is the road to wisdom. as human beings we can only learn by our mistakes. the wiser learn quickly not to make the same mistakes over and over again, the fools never learn, putting the consequences down to "bad luck".

to me there's one very good reason why ncm don't want to be too optimistic to early with the mre. one word, predators!
best wishes john
paddy:
after the first drilling results were announced by ncm i knocked up a spreadsheet assuming hole depths of 1200m but ignoring the top 400m. i couldnt find the actual depth each hole was drilled to at the time. from one of your diagrams i calculated the volume of the deposit and averaging the drill holes across the total volume it came out at about 5g per cubic metre. i added the second set of results later and didnt believe the figures it gave me so i scrapped the idea. it did, however, convince me that havieron was much much bigger than anyone was giving credence to at the time. i still hold that belief, even more so.
best wishes john
remember:
in these situations your worst enemy isnt the market-its your own mind. dont fall for it!
best wishes john
keithie1,
its not a question of "how long are you going to live", but what's your quality of life going to be while you're alive. it has to be worth living longer.
bestwishes, john
Money is a tool, like a hammer or a spanner. it makes things a little easier to do. its our attitude towards it that causes the problems.
best wishes, john

as a quiet patient realist i see nothing to get excited about. this will go where its going and no amount of wishful thinking or speculation will change that. i have no targets, i just observe, and when the circumstances are right i'll make my decisions. the only thing i can say is its nowhere near that point yet
