That article isn't totally right!! I think you will find that most Santander shareholders hold their shares in a CSN. Corporate sponsered nominee acc. We also have had to sell our rights compulsorily and will be given a chance to buy in at a later date apparently??? The whole thing is a sham, because the big banks are falling over thereselves to buy the shares. When really Santander could have financed the whole deal with their own cash. Two problems I can see with your bet. 1. Merrill Lynch would not dump all their holding if their was a bid in the offing!! 2. It wouldn't be the first time when a bid surfaces, the MMS drop the price by twenty five % for a split second,and take all the stops out and collect the shares, but your problem would be the spread company would stop you out without you getting a run for your money!!
