Hate to throw a spanner in, but they could kick the West out and very comfortably have Russia and China step in. They wouldn't give a flying monkey and would be more than delighted to help the Kurds, Iraq, and everyone else.
They do business rather than threatening war, and the world likes that.
I dare say Lavrov and Putin are ecstatic at the current flailing of the West in Kurdistan.
Especially considering they intended to use Kurd oil to fill the gap left from Russian oil.
Well that plan seems to be really working right now.
I lost a he'll of a lot in gulfsands in Syria, the Russians just stepped in. Assad couldn't give a monkeys about my shares.
So I definitely do not share this boards optimistic angles, and am very stressed by this.
