If it only rebounds to £3.50, I can imagine some fund managers at Abrams Capital will be "seeking alternative employment" after they increased their holdings at ~£6.10 and ~£5.90 (ish) last year.

I didn't see any "turmoil" in the RNS.

The comment "£200m PBT guidance still intact" seems to wilfully ignore the sentence following that statement in the RNS:

"This forecast excludes any impact from the ongoing CEO Review..."

If your figures are truthfull, I will be the first to admit that you have called it more accurately than I (and I suspect many others if they're being honest) have. However, you keep telling us that there's more bad news to come but you never back it up with credible evidence.

Homes England and the Treasury have taken the decision to limit and re-profile grant payouts in the early stages of the £39 billion SAHP initiative. Because the scheme is heavily oversubscribed, the government has spread out grant payments to control annual spending.

Why are these clowns not being called out on this by the media? No-one is holding this government's feet to the fire over their laughable claim that they were going to build 1.5m houses over 5 years.

I'm not spreading FUD. If you read my previous post, you'll see that I'm invested here (albeit 47% down!) and I have nothing to gain from trashing this stock.

However, I'm no Pollyanna (and I'm not saying that you are). I'm looking at the thick end of a thumping loss and trying to look at this stock objectively.

BTW, I wasn't basing my comments on what others are saying. I'm basing it on facts:

1) Material prices have increased by ~9%.

2) Vistry have been discounting to aid volume.

It was a turn of phrase, keep your knickers on.

I suspect that the markets are pricing in material cost inflation when calculating Vistry's value. We have seen an average materials increase of 9% across the construction sector since the Iran war began and that will have been compounded by the increase in minimum wage. The higher material prices will exhibit the "Rocket & Feather" effect whereby prices go up like a rocket but come down like a feather.

I fear that the discounting to shift inventory will have collided with higher costs and this will put more pressure on profitability. I hope I'm wrong.

The only thing that concerns me slightly about the quote from Stephen Teagle is the use of the words "I think" twice in the same para.

I hope for a more robust, positive, delivery in tomorrow's article. Vistry may just be "getting on" with BAU, but they really need to start generating some positive PR too (IMO).
