I don't like doing politics on here. Mr Blair WAS voted in by the electorate. Or do you think winning three elections was just a coincidence? Just because you don't like him ...fine. Talking about democracy Winston C was a master of pointing out its deficiencies. The Swiss system might work in a small country with loadsamoney. But you should look at how long it takes to elect a cabinet after religion/language and politics are balanced. The result is that it's barely possible to make a decision.
I was just on my first Grouse at 07.35. Since I expect the turbines are already built it should be straightforward to plop them on the foundations quite soon. but I don't know enough about the technology. I'm surprised at how little awareness there is of this, particularly in Scotland where there is opposition to fracking, UCG etc.
I bought in here on Monday and maybe timing right for once! I like the wording: " resounding success " and "world's largest". Not much SP reaction yet though.
Has anyone heard anything about the wind up? Surely it can't take this long. Not that I am expecting anything but I would like to know where the money went.
That's what I was thinking about also! I was pleased with the takeover offer until I realised my average was 187...
Not sure what you mean by that. It is already ex-Div. But does anyone understand why there were buys above 165p yesterday? Why pay more than the takeover price?. And sells over 165?
It's taken a bit of time to catch up on this but I see spec is worried about pensioners. I've just checked and I seem to be one. It's just that I wasn't in any way given false hope or misled. On the contrary the actions taken are clear and not offering a silver bullet. On another topic there was an article in the Times on Monday about Gulfsands. It mentions the pressures from BBS even listing user names. He lists a few things that bod have been called: overpaid, slow to act, unresponsive, value destroyers. Sounds familiar? Good response Andy. RKs comments are totally misleading. I resent being referred to as some awkward squad.
Thanks CC - spot on. I went back to re-read the RNS for the meeting and of course 1 and 3 were ordinary resolutions but 2 and 4 were special. So the % to get them through is different. Just a technicality really.
Yes, they made that clear. But who would vote for consolidation and dilution but not want the other two resolutions to get through?
Andy, that's just great! At least it cheered me up. Sorry I couldn't make the meeting yesterday but I appreciate everything you and the other active holders have done. Thanks. One thing is puzzling me. If 1 and 3 were passed what does that mean? They were the consolidation and dilution issues. 2 seemed more of a formality. 4 is a bit complicated. I voted no on all 4 as most PI~s probably did. So I wonder who voted through 1 and 3 but didn't like 2 & 4? I'm not against consolidation as such - it reduces the number of zeros.
I've checked my H-L account and they are still listed as BHR. No consolidation but n/a against the price. Same as you, I can have at how much I paid and get depressed!
I think this is a good time to use the term pyrrhic victory! We won but it's not worth anything.
I wouldn't expect anything soon from the FCA despite what their website might say. They visited me to investigate a misspelling claim I had, That was in April 2011 and it's not resolved yet. Nor can they give any information on progress or likely outcome.
The results of the last 2 GMs were posted at 3 and 4pm. So I would expect the same this time. I'm with HL and there was no notification of GM or resolutions. It seems it is up to individuals to keep an eye on their investments.
There's a Wetherspoon not far away in HI Ho. Maybe they've gone there to talk over a drink. It may take a little while for Capita to tot up the unexpected number of proxies.
Another drop in ophr today. Surely this offer needs to be re-worked. It is certainly not 1.15.Also seems odd that people are selling smdr well below the current offer price.
I was just about to refer to the Saturday Times article as well. The bid "Isn't all it seemed. No, it was worth 97p" That's because ophr sp has dropped so much. It also uses words like "some puzzlers; it's odd" The market realised that which is why smdr price hardly moved. We are really losing out here and the deal is suspect.
I just looked back over the broker ratings. What a joke. Surely these analysts know more about a company than we do and they have had £2.50 or so for a couple of months. but check Westhouse securities. I don't know who they are but spot on.
Broker prices suggesting £1.50- 1.60. This hasn't fallen as much as I expected and seems to be drifting back now. Almost sold first thing but decided to wait for 11p Divi. Whenever...
