What would their motive be though, to acquire more voting rights or just simply to profit

Why are newcrest playing silly games still, what are they trying to achieve by doing this. I can’t work it out. We are funded now and im confident we are going mining, I can’t see how we are still vulnerable but what do I know.
My theory is the share price is kept low until accumulation is complete, by who I’m not sure.
