NSS22, Many thanks I appreciate the links you find, where I can see BP planting thousands of olive trees around their solar panels.
I assume to appease the locals, but also to offset some CO2 emissions caused by the production of wind turbines and solar panel production. Mixing Agriculture with low carbon energy generation appears on the face of it the way forward, but the true CO2 offset could be 20 years after the projects are in full production.
One of the links posted last week was a annual report using zoom, where the fund manager was asked why he didn't include oil and gas in his portfolio, his answer was that oil and gas did not provide a 50 year future, way beyond his life span, but he is thinking that his fund will survive many generations of managers.
This consideration must be carried by a number of other fund managers. So until BP can prove a 50 year likelyhood of green income, I'm afraid that BP will not see the SP reach the heady levels of £5 even £4.50 perhaps not even £4.
If it does reach £4 or £4.50 remaining funds may be looking for an exit, without a BP view of the future.
I don't short any stocks, I trade a small amount for fun and education in TA.
My average is £3.60 down from £4.52.
Thanks for your links. Alex
