(Alliance News) - Yourgene Health PLC on Tuesday said it has signed a Covid testing services agreement with MyHealthChecked PLC to support their newly announced partnership with Boots UK Ltd.
Manchester-based molecular diagnostics firm Yourgene will partner with healthcare firm MyHealthChecked to supply its at-home nasal testing kits and laboratory testing services to Boots online and its 507 stores.
The agreement has an initial term of 12 months with Boots receiving a commission on all sales.
Yourgene is currently the exclusive provider of testing services for MyHealthChecked.
The testing kit will allow customers to take a nasal swab at home and send samples via the Royal Mail Tracked service to be tested at the laboratories of MyHealthChecked and Yourgene before online results are provided within 48 hours.
"I would like to congratulate MyHealthChecked on this agreement with Boots and we look forward to supporting their Covid-19 testing service and product supply to their laboratory," said Yourgene Chief Executive Officer & MyHealthChecked Non-Executive Director Lyn Rees.
"Covid-19 PCR tests have become a travel essential and as we anticipate the return of international travel later in the year, we expect to see an increase in demand which we are well positioned to deal with."
Shares in Yourgene were quoted at 14.50 pence in London on Tuesday afternoon, up 1.8%. The stock is down 1.7% so far in 2021.
