Translation software maker SDL posts first-half profit

Aug 5 (Reuters) - SDL Plc reported a first-halfpretax profit, compared with a year-earlier loss, as demand forits translation software in Europe increased.
The company posted a pretax profit of 3.1 million pounds($5.2 million) for the six months ended June 30 compared with aloss of 2.3 million pounds a year earlier.
Revenue fell 1.5 percent to 129.1 million pounds.($1 = 0.5929 British Pounds) (Reporting by Noor Zainab Hussain in Bangalore; Editing byRobin Paxton)
