Shares in software systems provider Total Systems fell over 6% after it warned order intake 'reduced significantly' during the first half and annual turnover is expected to be considerably less than the year before. Commenting on the company's outlook, chairman Terence Bourne said, "Order intake has reduced significantly during the first half of this calendar year and the Board considers that this situation is not likely to improve in the current financial year." "There is now an unprecedented level of uncertainty and it is not possible to indicate turnover for the year ended 31 March 2010 but it is likely to be considerably less than the year being reported upon," he said.Digital TV set-top box maker Pace tripled first half pre-tax profit and remains confident that it is on track to meet company expectations for the full year. Pre-tax profit surged to £31m in the six months ended 30 June 2009 from £10.5m the previous year. Revenue for the period increased to £526.5m, in line with management's upgraded expectations for 2009. Revenue in 2008 was £231.1m. CEO Neil Gaydon said, "We are extremely pleased with our half year results as the Pace Group continues to consistently deliver against its customer, technology and product strategies.
