Chip makers are soaring on the back of bumper sales of the iPad. Analysts' believe that this could mark the beginning of a booming market for tablet products, which could provide strong growth for the chip makers over the next decade. Imagination Technologies has risen the most but ARM and Wolfson Microelectronics are also higher. These firms would be major beneficiaries if tablet type products did take off. ARM has also been boosted by rumours that Apple could bid for it. ARM's name was visible on the fourth-generation iPhone that was launched on Tuesday. It has been thought for some time that ARM is a supplier to Apple but this had not been confirmed. ARM says it has not received a bid approach and analysts' believe an Apple bid is unlikely. Cancer drug developer Antisoma has continued its decline of the past three days and it has lost all of its gain from Monday. That followed a buy recommendation from broker KBC Peel Hunt. The broker believed that the upside in the shares could be considerable if there is positive news from two cancer drug trials over the next 12 months. A commercial partner for either drug could further boost the share price. The company's cash should last until late 2011.FTSE TechMARK - RisersArk Therapeutics (AKT) 5.75p +12.75%Imagination Technologies (IMG) 268.00p +12.13%ARM Holdings (ARM) 296.30p +8.14%Puricore (PURI) 8.63p +7.88%Autonomy Corporation (AU.) 1,933.00p +5.80%Gresham Computing (GHT) 15.50p +5.08%Micro Focus International Plc (MCRO) 514.50p +5.00%Telecity Group (TCY) 391.50p +4.43%Wolfson Microelectronics (WLF) 168.75p +4.01%RM Group (RM.) 180.00p +3.30%FTSE TechMARK - FallersConsort Medical (CSRT) 348.00p -5.95%Antisoma (ASM) 6.25p -5.45%Filtronic (FTC) 25.00p -4.76%Intec Telecom Systems (ITL) 58.25p -3.32%Sinclair Pharma (SPH) 25.75p -2.83%Computacenter (CCC) 304.60p -1.90%Axis-Shield (ASD) 265.50p -1.67%Pace (PIC) 152.60p -1.55%CML Microsystems (CML) 65.50p -1.50%KCOM Group (KCOM) 50.25p -1.47%
