Dialight says that it will exceed previous earnings expectations. There has been a strong performance by the signals/illumination part of the business and recovery in the indication market. Cost reductions are also helping to improve margins. House broker Canaccord Adams has increased its 2009 pre-tax profit forecast from £4.2m to £4.5m, while the 2010 figure has been raised from £7.4m to £8m. Dialight has won an order to supply 20,000 energy saving LED traffic signals to Turkey. There is scope for additional orders from this source. Full year figures will be published on 3 March. There was profit-taking following Antisoma's rise earlier in the week on the back of Novartis announcing its progress with trials of one of the drug developer's treatments. Novartis has completed the enrolment for a trial of Antisoma's ASA404 lung cancer. Development is also being extended to breast cancer.
