TechMARK movers: Alphameric extends horse racing rights

Betting technology supplier Alphameric was boosted by its 50%-owned subsidiary extending media rights for 30 racecourses to 2018. Amalgamated Racing, which owns Turf TV, will have to pay an upfront fee of £6m to extend the rights from 31 March 2013 to 31 March 2018. Management says that it is an increasingly competitive market and that is reflected in the size of the upfront payment. A three year sponsorship agreement will cost another £4.6m. Separate discussions have begun with Ascot racecourse. Alphameric says its results for the year to November 2009 will be in line with expectations and will be reported in February 2010.Shares in online betting and casino games developer CryptoLogic have lost their recent gains following the licence deal with BetClic. The share price is below the level when the deal was announced and at its lowest point since the beginning of 2009. BetClic is a major European online sports gaming business. This deal will provide recurring revenues for CryptoLogic because income will be based on wagers placed on the games.
