Sportech Shuffles Board To Appoint Vardey As Chair And McGuire As CEO

Tue, 02nd Jul 2019 13:10

(Alliance News) - Betting technology company Sportech PLC said on Tuesday Giles Vardey has been promoted to non-executive chair with immediate effect, while the company has also chosen a new chief executive officer.

Vardey, who was formerly chief executive of stockbroker Greig Middleton, joined the company in November 2017 as a non-executive director.

Meanwhile, interim executive chair Richard McGuire has been appointed as Sportech's new chief executive. McGuire joined the company in 2016 as a non-executive director, then becoming non-executive chair before being appointed as the firm's interim executive chair.

Vardey will continue to chair the company's remuneration and nomination committees and the board will search for a new non-executive member to join the group.

Shares in the company were down 0.3% at 33.10 pence in London on Tuesday afternoon.
