Royal Mail Names Former Woolwich Boss Lynne Peacock As Non-Executive

Fri, 20th Sep 2019 11:35

(Alliance News) - Royal Mail PLC on Friday said Lynne Peacock has been appointed as a non-executive director from November 1.

The postal services provider said Peacock also will take over the role as chair of the board's Remuneration Committee from Simon Thompson, who assumed the role on an interim basis in mid-July.

Peacock has over 20 years' experience as an executive and non-executive director, Royal Mail said, both in the financial services and non-financial services sectors. She has been chief executive officer of financial institution Woolwich PLC, which was acquired by Barclays PLC in 2000, and National Australia Bank Europe Ltd.

"Lynne has had a distinguished career, including in regulated industries undergoing extensive transformation. I have no doubt that Royal Mail will benefit greatly from her experience," said Chair Keith Williams.

Royal Mail shares were trading 1.5% higher in London on Friday at 226.60 pence each.
