LONDON (Alliance News) - Vodafone Group PLC is to create 1,400 jobs and open 150 shops across the UK over the next 12 months, Reuters reported Thursday.
The GBP100.0 million investment is part of Vodafone's expansion plans; the company plans to invest GBP1.00 billion in the UK in 2014, Reuters reported.
The opening of the new shops will increase the total number of Vodafone's branded UK outlets to more than 500, the company said.
Prime Minister David Cameron said of the plans, "It is a sign that our long-term economic plan to create jobs and build a stronger, more competitive economy is working."
