Oilex making progress on sidetrack well

Oil and gas exploration and production company Oilex is making progress with its troublesome Lolotoe-1 well in the Timor Sea.On Monday, 4 January, it reported delays had been experienced with the running of the 9.625” casing above the primary objective Elang/plover Formation sandstones, and was drilling a side-track well to circumvent these problems.By 4pm (western standard time) on 6 January drilling on the sidetrack well was at a depth of 2,552 metres. The section from 2,491 metres to around 3,750 metres is being re-drilled following extensive caving of the original borehole. On reaching the casing point, 9?" casing will be run before drilling the primary objective Elang/Plover Formation sandstones.
