NMC opens new hospital in UAE

(ShareCast News) - Healthcare operator NMC Health has opened a new facility in Abu Dhabi.The FTSE 250 said its new "super speciality hospital", the NMC Royal Hospital, will open for initial outpatient services on 1 September, with inpatient services expected to commence before the end of the year.The hospital, the group's largest specialty hospital facility in the UAE, has 250 beds and will act as the central hospital within NMC's healthcare platform, the London-listed company said in a statement.NMC added that its new facility will bring the total license bed capacity at its disposal to 855 beds, with 25 medical fields covered."This new super speciality facility, in tandem with our recent acquisitions, consolidates NMC's market positioning as a dynamic and growing healthcare brand offering optimal healthcare solutions to our patients through both our domestic and international assets," said BR Shetty, the group vice-chairman and chief executive.NMC shares were down 7.58% to 701.50p at 1621 BST on Monday.
