Mon, 14th Mar 2011 08:01
Less than two weeks after accepting the role of non-executive chairman of surf wear brand Hot Tuna International, Melissa Sturgess has decided she is too busy to do the job.A short statement from Hot Tuna said that Sturgess had resigned from the board with immediate effect to focus on her other business interests.Sturgess is currently a director of Carlton Resources, Ethiopian Resources, Nyota Minerals (UK) and Nyota Minerals (Ethiopia)."We are obviously disappointed with Melissa's decision but fully understand her commitment to Nyota Minerals," said Hot Tuna chief executive officer, Geoff O'Connell. Sturgess's appointment to the non-executive chairman role was announced on 2 March.
