(Alliance News) - Location Sciences Group PLC on Wednesday said that the increased privacy settings in the upcoming Andriod 11 operating system will be positive for its Verify tool.
The company's Verify tool uses location data to detect fraud.
The statement from the software firm came as a response to a decline in its share price. The stock was down 4.9% at 1.64 pence each in London on Wednesday afternoon. Earlier on Wednesday, the stock was down around 22%.
Location Science said that the increased privacy settings contained within the operating system update is expected to have a positive impact on the adoption of Verify. It noted that a large percentage of consumers turn off location data sharing, but added that the increased privacy settings would drive the adoption of its software due to it being "the only independent location verification tool available globally".
"The launch of Android 11 will drive a further decrease of already scarce high-quality location data as well as an increase in the use of poor-quality and fraudulent location data. We see this as a tremendous opportunity for Location Sciences to drive the adoption of Verify across the AdTech ecosystem and be part of the solution which drives return on investment for advertisers," said Chief Executive Mark Slade.
