(Alliance News) - Liontrust Asset Management PLC on Wednesday said its assets under management surged in the third quarter, though have since ebbed at the start of the fourth quarter.
Assets under management and advice amounted to GBP37.24 billion at December 31, up 4.4% quarter-on-quarter to GBP35.66 billion.
Liontrust saw GBP832 million in quarterly net flows and was assets also were bolstered by GBP748 million in positive market and investment performance.
For the nine months to December 31, assets under management and advice jumped 20% from GBP30.93 billion.
"We have generated another quarter of impressive sales with net flows reaching GBP832 million, taking the total for the nine months of the financial year to GBP2.9 billion. This growth is the result of our continued focus on meeting client expectations," Chief Executive John Ions said.
However, assets under management and advice stood at GBP36.04 billion on January 14, down 3.2% from December 31.
Liontrust on Wednesday said it has added Emma Boyd to its board as a non-executive director. The appointment is effective from Wednesday.
"Emma brings extensive commercial and financial services experience to the Board, as well as a background in governance and stewardship. She has held a number of non-executive and advisory roles over the past eight years since leaving Jupiter Asset Management as director, Stewardship," Liontrust said.
Liontrust shares were 3.0% lower at 1,742.00 pence each in London on Wednesday morning.
