ROME, Aug 20 (Reuters) - Italy's League leader MatteoSalvini said on Tuesday he was ready to keep the coalitiongovernment alive to approve a 2020 budget and vote in a reformof parliament before heading to early elections.
Salvini, who serves as deputy prime minister, has presenteda motion of no confidence in the government. However, he toldparliament that he would be willing to hold back a while to letkey legislation pass.
"Do you want to cut the number of parliamentarians and thengo to vote? We're ready for that. If you then want to present acourageous budget, then we are ready for that too," he told theSenate.(Reporting by Giselda Vagnoni; Writing by Crispian Balmer;Editing by Gavin Jones)
