Intu Cancels London Shares And Applies For Johannesburg Cancellation

Thu, 02nd Jul 2020 12:08

(Alliance News) - Intu Properties PLC on Thursday said its shares in London have been cancelled and it has applied to cancel its Johannesburg shares as well.

Intu operates 17 shopping centres in the UK and 3 in Spain, and announced the appointment of administrators and suspension of the listing and trading of its shares on Friday last week. This was due to a failure to reach an agreement over financial restructuring with its lenders.

At the company's request, the UK Financial Conduct Authority has cancelled the listing of Intu shares on the premium segment of the Official List while the London Stock Exchange has cancelled main market trading of its shares.

Alongside this, Intu applied to the Johannesburg Stock Exchange for cancellation of both its listing and of trading in Intu shares on the Main Board of the JSE.
