Intertek replaces finance chief Ed Leigh in management shakeup

Wed, 22nd Aug 2018 07:06

(Sharecast News) - Intertek has replaced chief financial officer Ed Leigh with group financial controller Ross McCluskey in a management shakeup at the product testing company. Leigh will leave the board immediately and give way to McCluskey, who will report to chief executive Andre Lacroix. Leigh will leave the FTSE 100 group "in due course".Intertek said the change was part of a wider reorganisation to remove a layer of management covering finance, IT and company secretary functions. It did not say what Leigh would do next. The chief information officer will report directly to Lacroix and the company secretary will report to the group's general counsel. Heads of tax, treasury, procurement, financial control, financial reporting and analysis and financial operations will report directly to McCluskey.Lacroix said Leigh had worked at Intertek for more than five years and had helped improve performance and the finance, IT and company secretary functions. McCluskey, who joined two years ago, has been a driving force at the business, Intertek said.Leigh said: "It has been an amazing five years for me at Intertek. It is time for me to move into the next part of my own journey and I wish Intertek all the very best for the future."On 7 August Intertek reported a 1.6% rise in first-half pre-tax profit, or 7.5% at constant currency, to £213.6m. The company increased its interim dividend by 36% to 31.9p a share.
