Infinis Energy reports 'solid' first half performance

Thu, 07th Aug 2014 11:00
British renewable energy company Infinis Energy said on Thursday it delivered a "solid" operational performance in the first half. The company's exports declined 2.7% to 463 gigawatts/hour (GWh) but it was "slightly better than expectations", as growth in the landfill gas business offset weakness in the onshore wind business. The firm's onshore business was affected by lower wind speeds and softer wholesale power prices due to lower gas prices. "Our efficient and young wind fleet continues to maintain high levels of availability and is well placed to benefit from recovering wind speeds when they occur," the firm assured investors. The total average selling price for the June quarter was £89/megawatt hours (MWh), an increase of £4.24/MWh on the comparative period.Infinis said the first dividend payment is due on 28 August 2014.Shares were up 0.79% to 211p on Thursday at 10:36.JF
