Wincanton PLC - Chippenham-based logistics company - Signs conditional agreement to dispose of the operations of its container business to UK-based intermodal logistics company Maritime. Will sell the container business for GBP1.5 million. After fees and provision for costs of separation, Wincanton expects to report a small exceptional gain on disposal. Disposal in line with company's strategy of focusing on its core markets that offer the greatest potential for growth. Disposal will reduce Wincanton's annual revenue by around GBP60 million and will lead to a small increase in the group's underlying pretax profit.
