Imagination Technologies' Ensigma Integrated Into Qualcomm TV Processor

LONDON (Alliance News) - Imagination Technologies Group PLC Tuesday said its Ensigma IP technology has been integrated into Qualcomm Technologies Inc's processor for smart televisions, set-top-boxes and digital media adapters.

The multimedia and processor technology company said that Ensigma's radio communications processing technology is now integrated into the Qualcomm Snapdragon 802 Ultra HD processor.

Qualcomm Technologies is a wholly-owned subsidiary of California-based Qualcomm Inc.

The Ensigma RPU performs global broadcast TV demodulation functions in the Qualcomm Snapdragon 802 processor, which integrates Qualcomm Technologies' own in-house designed Adreno GPU, CPU, video core, Bluetooth and WiFi technologies, Imagination Technologies said.

Shares in Imagination Technologies were trading 2.2% lower in early trading Tuesday, at 175.74 pence per share.
