IAG CEO says Airbus needs to be more aggressive on A380 pricing

BRUSSELS, March 6 (Reuters) - IAG would considerbuying more A380s from Airbus if the planemakerimproves the pricing of the superjumbo, the airline group'schief executive said on Tuesday.

"The pricing that Airbus has offered in the past isunacceptable to us," IAG boss Willie Walsh said on the sidelinesof a conference hosted by industry body Airlines for Europe.

"We've said very clearly to Airbus if they want to sellA380s they need to be aggressive on pricing and when they workout how to sell the aircraft, knock on our door and we'll talkto them," he said.

IAG owns British Airways and Iberia and the group operates12 A380s. Walsh said the airline was not currently negotiatingwith Airbus for more A380s.

Walsh also said that IAG was in the final stages ofinterviews to appoint a chief executive for the company's lowcost long-haul airline, Level, which operates from Barcelona andwas set up last year.(Reporting by Sarah YoungEditing by Victoria Bryan)
