HSBC Parts With USD1.71 Billion During Tender Offer

(Alliance News) - HSBC Holdings PLC on Wednesday said it paid USD1.71 billion to buy back six separate notes in a tender offer.

Last week Tuesday, the FTSE 100-listed bank said it launched a tender offer to buy-back USD2.5 billion worth of 2.950% senior unsecured notes due May 2021, USD1 billion of floating rate senior unsecured notes due May 2021 and USD2 billion of 4.000% senior unsecured notes due March 2022.

A series of USD1.03 billion 3.400% senior unsecured notes due March 2021 were also included in the tender offer, as well as USD907.2 million 5.100% senior unsecured notes due April 2021 and USD707.8 million floating rate senior unsecured notes due March 2021.

Also last week, HSBC said a total amount of USD2.00 billion was available as part of the tender offer.

Across the six note issues, HSBC parted with USD1.71 billion during the tender offer, the company said on Wednesday.

Shares in the company closed 1.1% higher at 290.25 pence each in London on Wednesday.
