Great Western increases land position at Mineral County asset

(Sharecast News) - Nevada-focused explorer Great Western Mining said it had increased its land position at its M2-Sharktooth prospect by roughly 30%.With the addition of the 66 unpatented claims to the Eastern and South-Eastern flank of Black Mountain, Great Western has secured a "highly prospective extension" to the M2-Sharktooth zone, providing both an enlarged operational footprint and future access for mine development on the eastern side of the mountain.Great Western also increased its land position on the western side of Black Mountain and the M4 prospect, adding a further 32 unpatented claims to its portfolio.The group highlighted that the new claims, in conjunction with the ten new claims added to its M8 prospect at the start of the year, increased the group's overall land position in Mineral County, Nevada by approximately 12% to 1,004 unpatented claims over 81.75 square kilometres."We are very pleased to have completed this timely extension to our claim areas at M2 and M4 as our drill programmes for both prospects are now in full swing, with the first assay results imminent," said chief executive, David Fraser.GW shares were up 2.14% to 1.19p.
