FTSE 100 movers: Banks rebound, British Land boosted by acquisition

Banking stocks such as Barclays and RBS topped the risers as share prices rebounded after a weak outing last week following some poorly-received annual results. 2014 figures from Barclays, the last UK lender to report, are due out on Tuesday.Intertek, the product testing and certification outfit, was higher after forecasting an improvement in organic revenue growth in 2015 after a 0.6% decline last year. Profits were down 4.7% in 2014, though the company still lifted its dividend by 6.7%British Land was among the risers on the acquisition of Surrey Quays Leisure Park in Canada Water for £135m. The Canada Water investment covers nearly 50 acres and is one of the largest mixed-use regeneration projects in London, according to British Land.Chief executive of the company Chris Grigg said: "We look forward to continuing our partnership with Southwark Council to create a vibrant new mixed use office, retail and residential campus for Canada Water including a new town centre."RSA Insurance was boosted by an upgrade from analysts at UBS, who raised their rating on the stock from 'sell' to 'neutral', saying that the market's expectations have been reset following last week's annual results.Mining stocks such as BHP Billiton reversed into negative territory despite morning gains.
